A workshop on “Library Cataloguing” was conducted on 17th May 2026 for CDOE students. Led by Dr. Balvant Tandel, Assistant Professor, Lovely Professional University, the session offered valuable practical insights into cataloguing standards, classification systems, bibliographic records, and effective information retrieval techniques essential for modern library practices.

A Masterclass on ‘From Chaos to Clarity: Mastering Library Classification and Cataloguing Skills’ was conducted on 7th December 2025 for CDOE students. Led by Dr. Balvant Tandel and Dr. Priya Vaidya, Assistant Professors at LPU, the session provided participants with practical insights and effective strategies, empowering them to confidently bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world library practice.”

A Masterclass on 'Cracking Competitive Examinations through Strategy & Discipline' was conducted on 2nd November 2025 for CDOE students. The session, featuring Mr. Anmol Sharma (AIR 32, UPSC CDS), Civil Service Professional, provided participants with proven preparation frameworks, strategic planning techniques, and practical insights, empowering them to pursue their examination goals with greater clarity, discipline, and confidence.

A workshop on “Effective Communication in English” was conducted on Sunday, 24th August 2025, at the University Campus for CDOE students. The session, facilitated by Ms. Karishma Verma, Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, focused on enhancing students’ proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, writing, and cultural adaptability. Through interactive learning, the workshop empowered participants to strengthen their communication skills and build greater confidence for both academic and professional success.

A workshop on "AI/ML Fundamentals: Concepts, Tools, and Techniques" was held at the University Campus on Saturday, 5th October 2024, for Distance Education students of DCA, BCA, B.Sc. (IT), MCA, and M.Sc. (IT) programme. Expert faculty members oriented students with a comprehensive overview of AI and ML concepts, algorithms, applications, and ethics.

To enhance the mathematical skills of DE students, a workshop on "Vedic Math: The Ancient Wisdom of Mental Calculation" was conducted at the University on Saturday, 28th September 2024, wherein Dr. Geeta Arora, Professor of Mathematics oriented students on solving complex arithmetic operations quickly by using innovative Vedic methods.

LPU DE organized a workshop on "Library Cataloguing using AACR Standards" for MLIS, BLIS, and DLIS students at the University Campus on 28th September 2024. Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Associate Professor, facilitated the session, providing valuable insights on effective cataloguing techniques.

LPU DE conducted a workshop on "Automating Libraries with Open Source Software" for its MLIS, BLIS, and DLIS students on 21st September 2024 at the LPU Campus, wherein the students gained practical skills in library automation and explored open-source solutions, guided by Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Associate Professor (LPU).

An exclusive workshop on 'Building Dynamic Dashboards using Tableau' was organized for LPU DE students of BCA, B.Sc. (IT), MCA, and M.Sc. (IT) programmes on 14th September 2024 at the LPU Campus. Led by Mr. Aseem Khanna, Assistant Professor, LPU, participants gained hands-on experience in creating interactive, data-driven dashboards using Tableau.

An online Workshop on “Library Classification and Cataloguing” was organised for LPU DE students through Google Meet on Saturday, 17th October 2020. Students got oriented by experienced Library Science faculty, Dr. Jatinder Kumar regarding the latest methods of Library Classification and Cataloguing.

LPU Distance Education conducted a Workshop on “Insights to Basic Programming languages” for its students through online platform Google Meet on Saturday, 7th November 2020. Students got their concepts cleared by the expert faculty, Mr. Chirag Sharma and shared their feedback to organise such sessions in future as well.

In an attempt to equip the DE students with necessary skills of handling stage effectively, LPU DE conducted a workshop on “Effective Stage handling skills” on Saturday, 22nd February 2020 wherein participants learnt techniques of stage handling, para-verbal & voice modulation skills and using body language effectively.

LPU DE conducted one day academic workshop on “Grammarian’s World” on Saturday, 8th February 2020 to make the students learn about the functional grammar, various parts of speech, paraphrasing & summarizing, vocabulary & its usage and to express ideas accurately in their own words.

Computer skills are the key to the modern world. In this regard, LPU DE conducted a special class on "Basic Computer Skills” on Saturday, 15th February 2020 that aims to familiarize the students with basic concepts and techniques of computing, Microsoft Windows, Mouse and Keyboard skills, Computer operations & Information technology and to enhance their understanding of the most popular, current technologies used at home and in the workplace.

As billions of people and thousands of companies depend on Google for their knowledge and business, Directorate of Distance Education of LPU conducted workshop “Google-Tools” on Sunday, 29th September 2019 to amplify the productivity at work for students and help them to avail more opportunities in life.

Directorate of Distance Education of LPU conducted a workshop on “Art of effective communication” for LPU DE students on Sunday, 15th September 2019 wherein the students learnt various nuances of effective communication like intonation, body language, accent neutralization and power positioning of body.

Directorate of Distance Education of LPU conducted a workshop on “Working with Excel” for LPU DE students on Saturday, 21st September 2019 wherein the students learnt Basics of Excel, Shortcuts and Formulas used in Excel and time saving techniques for dealing with large data.

LPU Distance Education conducted workshop for its Diploma, Bachelors and Masters Students of Library and Information Sciences on 26th May 2019 to provide them hands on experience on Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), Universal Decimal Classification (UDC), and Colon Classification (CC).

LPU DE conducted Special classes on ‘Networks’ at University Campus on 22 nd and 29th September, 2018. The objective was to give insights and practical tips about what networking is and how to tap into the power of networking in a way that everybody feels good about it.
